Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) has reduced its working time to five hours per day as a result of the continued increase in COVID-19 cases. The ban from Monday, January 10, 2022, began operating from 08:00h to 13:00h daily.

In a notice, DBL said this move is being taken “as an additional precautionary measure to minimize the risks related to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The branches at Diamond, East Bank Demerara, Le Ressouvenir and Mahaica, East Coast Demerara will be opened from 8:00h to 11:30h on Saturday.

Further, customers are urged to visit the banks only in cases of “absolute necessity.” For assistance on any banking matters, it has provided a Whatsapp number -+592- 624-0828 – to make enquiries.

As of Monday, there are 6,300 active COVID-19 cases across the country. This includes 425 new cases recorded following tests at the weekend.
