Guyana calls US, UN, UK, France & Brazil as Maduro moves against Essequibo

As President Nicholas Maduro of Venezuela takes action in claiming Guyana’s Essequibo Region following a referendum held in his country Sunday last, Guyana is not taking the actions of the Spanish-speaking nation lightly and has been engaging in some maneuvers of it’s own.
On Tuesday evening, Nicholas Maduro announced several measures including setting up an interim government for the Essequibo Region, appointing an Army General to manage the affairs of the Essequibo, ordered a state agency to begin the process to ensure issuance of exploration of oil and gas licenses for the Essequibo, and an ultimatum for existing companies in the Essequibo who received exploration licenses issued by the Government Government, to get out of the Essequibo within three months and has announced that Essequibo is now officially a state of Venezuela.
In response to these illegal actions by Venezuela which threatens Guyana’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence, the Guyana Government has reacted.
On Tuesday night, President irfaan Ali announced that Guyana will be intensifying its precautionary measures as it sees the announcements by Maduro as an imminent threat to Guyana’s territorial.
“I have tonight spoken to the Secretary General of the United Nations and several leaders, alerting them of these dangerous developments and the desperate actions of president Nicholas Maduro that flies in the face of international law and constitute a grave threat to international peace and security” President Ali announced.
He further stated..
“Guyana will tomorrow (Wednesday) bring this matter to the United Nations Security Council for appropriate action to be taken by that body. further, we have engaged CARICOM, the OAS (Organization of American States, the Commonwealth and many of our bilateral partners, including the United States of America, Brazil, the United Kingdom and France… The Guyana Defense Force is on full alert and has engaged his military counterparts including the US Southern Command” the Guyanese head of Stated told the nation on Tuesday night.
According to President Irfaan Ali, Venezuela has literally declared themselves an outlaw nation but assured that nothing done by Venezuela will stop Guyana from proceeding its case in the ICJ and will not allow the territory to be violated nor the development of the country to be stymied by the threats of Venezuela.
