Racing fans in the ancient county were out in their numbers for the inaugural Berbice Invasion Drag Race meet which took place at the Rose Hall Canjie Estate Airstrip over the weekend.
Organized and executed by the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC), the event saw over 100 competitors take to the strip for the full day of racing.
Fans begun lining up early for entry to the event and were not deterred by the blistering sun as the sport broke new ground in the county.
Fans were especially thrilled to see the superbikes in action with Shem Chattersingh showing his stuff in the 600CC class while Stephon Vishman won the 1000CC class.
