Agriculture Minister meets with farmers at Yakasari.

– $1B to be expended on drainage and irrigation needs.

Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha met with farmers from Yakasari (Black Bush Polder) today.

During the meeting, farmers were advised about the many government initiatives planned for the region to improve the lives of farmers.

The Minister explained that approximately $1 billion will be expended by the end of this year to construct 2 pump stations to assist with drainage and irrigation.

He also disclosed that cash crop farmers from Black Bush Polder will begin to receive their fertilizer assistance in the coming week.
