Fagundes death probe: Bacchus released, charged for damaging police vehicle

Rondell Bacchus known as “Killa” was released from police custody on Friday the police said in a statement. Bacchus was being questioned by the police in relation to the shooting death of Ricardo Fagundes. Fagundes was shot and killed by two gunmen infront of the popular Main Street nightspot, Palm Court.

Three days ago the police issued a wanted bulletin for Bacchus for questioning in relation to Fagundes murder. Bacchus turned himself in on the same day. The police in its statement on Friday said that a Habeas Corpus Writ was served and that Bacchus has been placed on $100,000.

He is required to report to the police on specified days as the probe continues the police said.

The police in its statement said that Bacchus has been charged in relation to another matter, as it is alleged that while being escorted from the lockups by the police “he maliciously damaged a police vehicle.”

He will appear in court on April 12th, 2021 for that matter.

Bacchus, who was convicted for the murder of Akbar Alli in 2008. He was released in 2019.

The police are yet to say if they are pursing other suspects as the investigate the death of Fagundes.
