April 12, 2025 – As part of its continued efforts to promote homeownership and reduce construction costs, the Ministry of Housing and Water – Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) is set to distribute Steel and Cement Housing Subsidy vouchers to nearly 70 landowners in Region Four today.

The distribution is taking place at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC) as part of the Ministry’s ongoing ‘Dream Realised’ Housing Drive. Earlier in the day, Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, officially handed over the first set of vouchers to beneficiaries.

The Steel and Cement Housing Subsidy Programme is aimed at supporting individuals building their own homes. Under the initiative, beneficiaries constructing homes valued at $6 million or less are eligible to receive steel and one sling of cement. Those with homes valued between $6 million and $25 million will receive two slings of cement.

The programme is part of the government’s broader commitment to making affordable housing a reality for more Guyanese families.
