The Guyana Police Force has confirmed that the fatal shooting of 29-year-old construction worker Rondell Clarke, which occurred on June 8, 2025, at Foulis, East Coast Demerara, was committed by a security guard employed by Force Security Solutions.

In a statement issued today (June 11, 2025), police revealed that a damaged metal fragment was recovered from Clarke’s body during a post-mortem examination. The fragment was submitted to the Criminal Investigations Department’s (CID) Crime Laboratory for ballistic analysis.

Following a thorough examination, ballistic experts determined that the recovered fragment was discharged from an AR rifle assigned to Messiah Mussendeen, a security officer with the private security firm.

Additionally, investigators confirmed that a 9mm spent shell casing found at the scene matched a 9mm pistol that was in the possession of another security officer, Devon Boucher, also employed by Force Security Solutions.

Based on the evidence, it is now unequivocally clear that the fatal shot which caused the death of Mr. Rondell Clarke was fired from the AR rifle carried by Messiah Mussendeen the police said in the release.

Investigations are ongoing.
