National Toshaos Council Conference Opens
Today, Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, along with a techical team from the Ministry of Agriculture, joined President Dr. Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips, Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Cabinet Ministers, government officials, and members of the diplomatic community at the opening ceremony of the National Toshaos Council Conference.
The five-day conference, which runs from August 19, 2024, is being held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre in Liliendaal on the East Coast of Demerara.
The event, themed “Astute Leadership for Amerindian Development,” gathers indigenous leaders from over 200 communities nationwide.
The conference will focus on enhancing access to government services for these communities, aiming to promote development and strengthen leadership among the country’s Amerindian population.
