DOS headed to Suriname for high-profile IGG meeting

The Director of Sport, Steve Ninvalle will be heading to Suriname for a high-profile meeting on September 19 to plan for the 2025 Inter Guiana Games set to be hosted from December 5 to 7 in Guyana.
According to a press release from the National Sports Commission (NSC), Ninvalle views the meeting as intricate to the smooth organisation of the IGG.
“The Inter Guiana Games is more than just a sporting event, it is an opportunity to deepen cultural ties, foster youth development, and showcase the talents of our young athletes. Our focus in Suriname will be on building on the gains of 2024 while setting the stage for a successful hosting in December,” Ninvalle noted.
Additionally, the meeting will also be used to review the 2024 games that was held in French Guiana.
Ninvalle, since assuming the role of Director of Sport has been on the forefront of ensuring that the IGG continues to develop into a breeding ground for Guyana’s promising young talent.
Further, the Guyanese delegation is expected to comprise senior officials from the NSC who will work closely with their Surinamese and French Guianese counterparts.
The Inter Guiana Games is a multi-sport event involving Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, aimed at promoting friendship, cooperation, and regional integration through sport.
