Students in Region 9 benefited from a program of the Ministry of Education where it seeks to prepare grade six students for their upcoming National Grade Six Assessment Examination with the necessary study packages.

On Wednesday the rolling out of the initiative in Region 9 commenced and saw the care packages which are designed for those students within the public education sector being outfitted with textbooks, notes, worksheets and past papers to help them prepare for the exams.

The Ministry of Education in a statement said that thus far, the ministry has been able to touch fifty primary schools in Region 9 where the packages were distributed. Other packages are said to be enroute to the most remote schools as the Department of education seeks to ensure that each child receives his or her package, the ministry’s release noted.

The complete study package for the students includes: Social Studies Notes, Science Notes, Worksheets – Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Science,          NGSA Past Papers from the last five years, Let’s do Mathematics Book 5, Fun with Language Book 5, Science around Us Book 5, Social Studies for our Children Book 5, Graded Math Book 5, A Process of Learning – Mathematics Book 5, A Process of Learning – English Book 5, Mastering Vocabulary – Book 5,  Understanding English Grammar – Book 5, Social Studies Made Easy Grades 5 and 6, Science Made Easy Grades 5 and 6,  and Guyana Our Country, Our Home.
