Foreign army fighter jets enter Guyana’s airspace- Gov’t officials confirm

Senior government functionaries have confirmed the presence of two foreign fighter jets in Guyana’s airspace some time on Tuesday.

One government spokesman said that the jets were seen flying over areas in Region Seven. “We are monitoring the situation and have informed the relevant authorities,” the spokesman said.

It is believed that the jets are those of the Venezuelan army but we have been unable to confirm such.

Guyana is before the International Court of Justice as it seeks a juridical ruling on the border issue.
