Hospitalized: Nalicia Ragoonauth

A man is now dead and his reputed wife battling for her life at the New Amsterdam Hospital in Berbice. Hospitalized is 24-year-old Nalicia Ragoonauth while 27-year-old Ganesh Narine is dead. The couple has been living together at Bush lot Village on the Corentyne Coast, Berbice along with the eight-year-old son of Narine.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that on Friday evening, the couple left to attend a birthday celebration next door and when they returned home, they ended up in an argument where Narine threatened to kill Ragoonauth.

According to the eight-year-old child, he retired to bed and was awoken by a loud noise only to see his stepmother emerging from a room, covered in blood and marks of violence about her body. When he looked into the room, his father was in there with what appeared to be a cutlass.

Ragoonauth ran out of the house and collapsed and the eight-year-old boy called out for help. Persons came over to where the woman was, picked her up and rushed her to the hospital where doctors up to the time of this report, were treating her for injuries to her wrists, arms, and neck.

When the police visited the home, based on our information, Ganesh Narine was found hanging from a rope that was tied to a beam in one of the house rooms. he was quickly cut down and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police sources indicated that the man may have taken that course of action after believing that the woman succumbed to her injuries as a result of his attack on her. The police investigations into this matter are ongoing.

Two nights ago, a woman was killed after her reputed husband stabbed her several times and slit her throat at Cane grove Mahaica.
