Albouystown critical after execution attempt

31-year-old taxi driver Jason Sampson of 130 King Edward Street Albouystown, is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital in a critical condition after being shot twice to the abdomen on Monday night.

At the time of the shooting, Sampson was at the Peace and Light Super Bet establishment which is located at 137 James Street Albouystown. There, a male walked up to the door of the establishment while Sampson was gambling and shot him twice.  Sampson was picked up by his wife who was close by and rushed to the hospital.

Police sources said the shooting incident took place around 20:30hrs and it is said that the shooter was an unidentifiable male who arrived at his crime scene on foot.

After the shooting, police detectives arrived on the scene and commenced their investigations which saw them retrieving one spent shell. Several persons were questioned in relation to the development.

Police have managed to observe several CCTV cameras in the area and those would be reviewed to aid in the investigation.
