Dexter Agrian, called Adrian, a 41-year-old excavator operator of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, was on Tuesday charged with the murder of 38-year-old gold miner Mark Benn, known as “Tattoo.”

The charge stems from the fatal incident which occurred on Saturday, September 11, 2025, at Big Mara Mara Backdam, Middle Mazaruni River.

Agrian was arrested by police ranks attached to the Bartica Police Station and appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the murder charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison until October 30, 2025, when the matter is set to continue.
