Viral Video of Wanted Man Under Police Probe

January 19 2026— The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has launched an investigation into reports circulating on social media involving wanted man Jamal Bourne, also known as “Skinny.”

Bourne is wanted in connection with the murder of Akeem Hamer, which occurred at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, on September 12, 2024.

According to the police, the Force is aware of a video that circulated on social media and appears to show Bourne inflicting a suspected gunshot wound to himself during a Facebook Live broadcast on Sunday, January 18, 2026. During the broadcast, Bourne was reportedly seen in the company of other individuals and allegedly displayed a number of suspected firearms.

The video has since been removed from the social media page on which it was originally posted.

Police have stated that there is no official confirmation of Bourne’s death, and no reports relating to the incident have been received in any of Guyana’s 12 policing divisions.

The Guyana Police Force said it is treating the matter seriously and is conducting all necessary enquiries to verify the authenticity of the video, determine where it was recorded, and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigations remain ongoing.
