Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, alongside Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture, Vikash Ramkisson, held their first official meeting with staff of the Ministry as they outlined priorities for the new term.

In his address, Minister Mustapha acknowledged the progress achieved in the past five years but stressed that the pace of delivery must accelerate as government advances its national development agenda.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to positioning Guyana as the food-producing capital of the Caribbean.

The Ministers further indicated that engagements will continue in the coming days with Heads of Agencies and other staff as part of efforts to fast-track the government’s transformative plans for the agriculture sector.
