Officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) conducted a successful operation on Thursday at Lot 13 Adventure Village, Essequibo Coast, resulting in the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine.

According to a press statement from the agency, acting on intelligence received, CANU ranks searched the residence, where they discovered several parcels containing a whitish, powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

The occupant of the property, Kennard Smith, a businessman of the said address, was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics. Tests later confirmed that the substance was cocaine, weighing 13.790 kilograms in total.
