October 25, 2025 – Officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Wednesday conducted a targeted operation at a residence in Home Place, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, which led to the discovery of a quantity of cocaine.

According to a statement issued by CANU, acting on intelligence received, ranks searched the premises and unearthed several parcels containing a whitish, powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

Five individuals were arrested at the location and taken to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics. Subsequent tests confirmed that the substance was cocaine, weighing 5.970 kilograms in total.
