Suspect Held After CANU Drug Bust at Sandaka Dam

The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Thursday, November 27, 2025, intercepted a quantity of cocaine and cannabis during an operation at Sandaka Dam, Corentyne, Berbice.
According to CANU, officers were acting on intelligence when they conducted the operation and stopped a suspect who was travelling on a motorcycle. A search of the individual uncovered a parcel containing 12.1 grams of cocaine.
Officers then carried out a follow-up search in the immediate area, where they discovered two bulky parcels containing approximately 30 kilograms of cannabis.
The suspect was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the seized narcotics.
CANU says investigations are ongoing.
