Bamia Primary School Set to Open by September 2025

April 17 2025 – The highly anticipated Bamia Primary School in Region 10 is entering its final stage of construction, with only minor electrical work, lighting installations, and limited plumbing tasks remaining before completion.
A recent inspection led by Regional Executive Officer (REO) Mr. Dwight John, alongside other regional authorities and Project Consultant Mr. Rudolph Anthony from E&A Consultants Inc., confirmed that the project is progressing to a satisfactory standard and is on track to be operational in time for the September 2025 academic year.
The project, awarded to St8tment Investment Inc. in November 2021, has faced multiple delays stemming from labor shortages, increased material costs, and adverse weather conditions. These challenges extended the original timeline but have now been largely resolved, allowing the project to move forward into its final phase.
Once completed, the Bamia Primary School will be among the most modern educational facilities in Region 10. The expansive new campus will include 44 classrooms, a gymnasium, auditorium, science laboratory, music room, library, smart classrooms, and modern restroom amenities. The comprehensive layout is designed to support holistic learning and accommodate a growing student population in the region.
The new facility has generated significant excitement within the local community, which has been eagerly awaiting improved educational infrastructure. Kerwin Bollers, representative of St8tment Investment Inc., remarked, “We are proud to have brought this project to its final stage and look forward to officially handing it over to the Region and the young minds who will benefit from it.”
The school’s completion is expected to significantly enhance educational opportunities in the area, supporting the government’s broader commitment to improving access to quality education across Guyana.
