Albouystown man remanded on drug trafficking charges

A 27-year-old labourer was on Thursday remanded to prison after being charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

 

Dicqual Osborne of Albouystown, Georgetown, and Sixth Avenue, Bartica, appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him.

 

The charge was instituted under Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10. Osborne pleaded not guilty.

 

Following the hearing, he was remanded to prison and the matter was adjourned to June 3, 2026, for continuation.
