BREAKING: Gunmen attack police prosecutor and family at home

The Guyana Police Force is investigating an armed attack on the home of a Police Corporal at his East Bank Demerara home on Sunday evening.

BIG Smith News Has been informed that at around 20:45hrs, Police Prosecutor Heamchand Sukhna and his family were in their yard when loud explosions  similar to that of gunshots were heard.

The 39 year old policeman took cover in an effort to observe where the shots were coming from and observed two men wearing hoodies and with guns in their hands, standing in front of his home firing shots into his yard and in his direction.

The 39 year old Police Corporal is stationed in the Police Regional Division 4B where he serves as the Police Prosecutor at the Diamond Magistrates Court #1.

The policeman escaped unhurt as did the other members of his family.

A party of policemen from the division responded and commenced their investigations into the matter.

Two .40 spent shells and five .22 spent shell were recovered from the scene.
