President Guard dies weeks after being found unconscious on roadway

A police constable who was found unconscious on the roadway back in July and who was reportedly on the road to recovery died this morning at the Georgetown Public Hospital. The cop’s death comes even as police detectives were hoping that he would be able to give them some vital information as to how he ended up unconscious on the roadway.
Guyana Police Force constable 24045 Winston Cooper who was attached to the Presidential Guard Service was was picked up in an unconscious state on Mandela Avenue on July 01, 2019.

The police in a statement on the morning that the cop was found on the roadside, said that the discovery was made at approximately 05:30 hrs while the details were sketchy at the moment, the force did promise to provide a further update with particulars on the matter as they become available but that never happened.
However what the BIG Smith Crime Watch has been informed is that the police did receive information that Constable Winston Cooper’s attack might have been linked to a relationship which went sour with a young lady.
According to persons close to the cop and the force, prior to the constable’s discovery on the roadway, the female and her boyfriend reportedly confronted Constable Cooper and threats were made. However, that matter was never reported officially so the police were reportedly awaiting the recovery of the injured constable before they can have him brief them on that specific incident.
It is unclear if the police made any headway and or attempts to get to the bottom of what happened to one of their own.
