Neighbour who was arrested for Henry Boys death; found murdered in home

A 67-year-old man was this afternoon found murdered in his home at No.3, Village West Coast Berbice. Police sources in Region 5 have confirmed this information.

BIG Smith News Watch has been told that the man was found with what appears to be chop wounds about the body. This publication has only been able to confirm the man’s call name ‘Sarjee’ thus far.

‘Sarjee’ was among the first set of persons who were initially arrested for the Henry Boys murder after relatives of the cousin and other villagers accused him of engaging in witchcraft and suggested that he might have sacrificed the cousins.

Police detectives are currently on the scene combing for clues. We were told that the elderly man was found in an unconscious state in his home by a relative with his marks of violence late Tuesday afternoon, he was rushed to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital where he died.

It was revealed too that the deceased had a land dispute with a neighbor. While the police are seeking to gather as much information as possible, the villagers and residents seem to be somewhat reluctant to cooperate given the protests that were triggered following the deaths of the Henry boys and later Haresh Singh.
