Church brother arrested for fraud; collecting money for gun license

A God-fearing man and elder in the church was arrested on Tuesday by the police for obtaining money by falsely pretending that he was in a position to assist an individual in obtaining a firearm license.

Paul Watson is also a former member of the Guyana Police Force who resides at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo.

The man who currently works with a private security service; was previously charged by the police for matters of a similar nature, the Guyana Police Force noted in a statement.

The police are calling on anyone else who was defrauded by Paul Watson under the same circumstances to come forward and report the matter to the nearest police station.
