Two of the seven persons jointly charged in connection with the 2025 gas station bombing case were on Monday discharged when the matter was called at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.

Attorney-at-law Bernard Da Silva appeared for Ramesh Pramdeo and Wayne Correia before Principal Magistrate Alisha George, who upheld a no-case submission and dismissed the charges against the men.

However, the third accused, Jennifer Rodrigues, was committed to stand trial at the High Court.

The others are facing charges in the Georgetown Magisterial district.

The group had been charged with aiding and abetting individuals accused of carrying out the bombing at a gas station located at Regent and King Streets on October 26, 2025, which claimed the life of 6-Y-O Soraya Bourne.

At the time, it was alleged that Pramdeo and Correia facilitated the movement of two Venezuelan nationals—identified as the main suspects—by arranging transportation from Parika to a hotel in Meten-Meer-Zorg.

The prosecution had contended that the men assisted the suspects, who were later charged separately in relation to the explosion.

During earlier proceedings, the defence maintained that the two men had no knowledge of any alleged plot and were not present at the scene of the explosion.

With the dismissal of charges against Pramdeo and Correia, the case will now proceed in the High Court against Rodrigues.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan national, Daniel Alexander Ramirez Poedemo, the alleged mastermind behind the deadly explosion has reiterated to  acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that he acted alone, urging the court to free the others implicated in the matter.
