22-Y-O brain tumor patient dies amid plea for help

April 21 2026
A cloud of grief has fallen over a family in Sophia, Greater Georgetown, following the death of 22-year-old Antonette Dindial, who passed away earlier today at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Her mother, Ronda Robertson, confirmed the heartbreaking news, bringing a tragic end to what had been a desperate and emotional public plea for help in recent weeks.
Through tears, the distraught mother shared that despite the outpouring of support from members of the public, including efforts to raise funds for life-saving surgery, the family was unable to secure enough in time. The prolonged wait for treatment and mounting medical challenges only deepened their anguish as they watched Antonette’s condition worsen.
In January, Robertson had turned to the public in a heartfelt appeal, describing her daughter as a kind, loving and vibrant young woman whose life had been upended by a brain tumour.
She had expressed hope that financial assistance would allow Antonette to undergo urgent surgery and regain a chance at life.
Supporters responded with compassion, and fundraising efforts were launched to aid the family. However, the assistance fell short of what was needed, leaving the family struggling against time and circumstances.
Today, that fight has come to a devastating end.
Antonette’s passing has left relatives and friends in deep mourning, as they remember a young life filled with promise, now cut tragically short.
