A 52-year-old businesswoman from Helena #1 Mahaica Village, East Coast Demerara, was fined by the court after pleading guilty to allowing an unmuzzled ferocious dog to be at large.

Nadira Persaud, also called “Nanda”, was charged with the offence of setting an unmuzzled ferocious dog to be at large.

Persaud had been arrested on September 29, 2025, in connection with an incident involving Melissa Ann Bynoe at Helena #1 Mahaica Village, which occurred on September 13, 2025.

She appeared on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, before Magistrate A. Wilson at the Mahaicony Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to her.
