Firearm Discovered After Four-Vehicle Collision at Cumberland, East Canje

Police in Regional Division #6 are investigating the discovery of a suspected firearm and ammunition that followed a four-vehicle collision on Sunday, November 30, 2025, along the Cumberland Public Road, East Canje Berbice.
According to reports, ranks responding to the accident acted on information received and conducted a search in the immediate area. During that search, they discovered a suspected 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing three live matching rounds.
A 53-year-old operator from Adelphi Village, East Canje Berbice, who was involved in the collision, was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody assisting investigators.
The suspected weapon and ammunition have been secured as the investigation continues.
