Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken, today met with and congratulated Police Constable Shem Chattersingh — a standout in local motorbike drag racing — for his exceptional performance at the recently concluded Berbice Drags Invasion held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Rose Hall Airstrip, Canje, Berbice.

During a courtesy visit to the Commissioner’s office at Police Headquarters, Constable Chattersingh was lauded for his consistent excellence and dedication to the sport over the years. Commissioner Hicken praised the officer for demonstrating discipline, focus, and national pride both in his policing duties and on the racetrack.

Constable Chattersingh delivered a dominant showing at the event, securing first place in the 600cc category.

He also went head-to-head in several grudge matches against competitors riding larger 1000cc bikes, where he continued to impress — emerging victorious aboard his Suzuki GSXR-600, widely regarded as the fastest drag racing bike in Guyana.

Commissioner Hicken expressed pride in the Constable’s accomplishments, noting that his achievements reflect positively on the Guyana Police Force and serve as inspiration to his colleagues and young people nationwide.
