September 30, 2025 – The Ministry of Housing and Water, through the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA), has issued a public call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from contractors, consortiums, and individuals for the construction of housing units across all ten administrative regions of Guyana.

The initiative forms part of government’s plan to expand access to modern, affordable housing, with units ranging from Low Income (650 sq. ft) to Young Professional (2,200 sq. ft) homes. Categories also include Moderate Income (800 sq. ft), Middle Income (1,200 sq. ft), and High Income (1,800 sq. ft) housing models.

According to CHPA, the construction approach may involve public-private partnerships and is expected to meet the growing demand for homes across the country.

Interested applicants are required to meet strict eligibility criteria, including proof of business registration, audited financial statements, evidence of financial capacity, lists of past projects, available equipment, qualified personnel, and detailed construction proposals with drawings, cost estimates, and methodology.

EOIs must also specify the regions of interest, provide company details, and be signed and stamped as an official declaration.

The deadline for submissions is 3:00 PM on October 24, 2025, and documents must be addressed to the Chairman of the CHPA Board at 41 Brickdam and United Nations Place, Georgetown.

For further clarification, interested parties may contact CHPA’s Projects Department at 227-8886 or 226-1809 during business hours.

The Ministry has noted that it reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without providing a reason.
