18-Y-O Charged with Rape of 13-Y-O Schoolgirl

March 18 2025- 18-year-old bus conductor, Ralph Thomas, has been charged with the rape of a 13-year-old schoolgirl in Region One.

 

Thomas, a resident of Mabaruma Settlement, North West District, was arrested on March 5, 2025, by ranks from the Mabaruma Police Station’s Criminal Investigation Department.

 

He was formally charged on Monday with the offence of “Rape of a Child Under 16 Years”.

 

The charge stems from an alleged incident that occurred on March 4, 2025.

 

Thomas made his first court appearance on Tuesday before Magistrate Clive Nurse via Zoom at the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court. The charge was read to him, and he was granted bail at $400,000.

 

The case has been adjourned to March 21, 2025**.
