Washbay staff held after police find firearm, ammo at Tucville

A 25-year-old self-employed man is in police custody after a suspected .32 pistol and six matching live rounds of ammunition were found at a wash bay on Jackson Street, Tucville, Georgetown.
According to police, the discovery was made around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, during a police operation based on information received.
Ranks arrived at the location and contacted the 25-year-old man before conducting a search of the structure in his presence.
During the search, police reportedly found the suspected .32 pistol in a drawer of a table, along with a magazine containing six matching live rounds of ammunition.
The man, who is not a licensed firearm holder, was arrested and taken to the East La Penitence Police Station along with the suspected firearm and ammunition, which were lodged as investigations continue.
The suspect remains in custody as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the firearm’s possession.
