Mixta Africa Interested in Local Housing Development

October 16, 2024 – Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, held discussions with representatives from Mixta Africa, yesterday, regarding a proposal for the construction of housing units in Guyana.
The meeting, which also included Sherwyn Greaves, Chief Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA), focused on potential collaboration to boost local housing development.
Mixta Africa is a leading real estate developer, specializing in building communities across Africa. The company has successfully completed over 20,000 residential and retail units, contributing significantly to the continent’s urban development.
During the meeting, Mixta Africa’s representatives outlined their experience and discussed how their expertise in large-scale residential projects could be applied to meet Guyana’s housing needs.
The talks signal the government’s continued efforts to enhance the local housing sector and provide affordable, high-quality homes for its citizens.
This engagement forms part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to collaborate with international partners and leverage global best practices to address housing demand across the country.
Further discussions are expected as both parties explore avenues for future cooperation.
