Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, visited the New Amsterdam Multilateral Secondary School today to officially facilitate the handover of cash grants to parents of students from various schools in Region Six.

The 2024 distribution exercise for the ‘Because We Care’ Cash Grant commenced today and will be conducted countrywide over the next two weeks. Each parent will receive a grant valued at $45,000 per child.

This initiative aims to provide financial support to families, ensuring that children have the necessary resources for their education.

The ‘Because We Care’ Cash Grant is a testament to the government’s commitment to investing in education and supporting families across Guyana. The program continues to play a crucial role in helping parents meet the educational needs of their children.
