Boston takes game 5, forces a game 6 against the Miami Heat.

No other result would suffice for Boston Celtics besides a victory. They have given away the first 3 games and now must attempt the improbable, coming back from a 3-0 deficit in a seven-game series. Boston never trailed last night on their way to a 110-97 victory, in a game where they led by over 20 points at points.

Derrick White put on a blistering shooting performance to finish with a game-high 24 points, shooting 6/8 from the three-point line.

From Jump ball Boston came out swinging, restricting the Miami Heat to 20 points in the first quarter. Tatum shot 5/8 from the field, finishing with 12 points, while it was White who opened on 3/3 from beyond the arc.

Marcus Smart also tallied 8 points as well in the first quarter alone. By the end of the game, Smart finished with 23 points and 5 steals. It was one of the Celtics’ best defensive performances of this postseason, holding the Heat to one of their least efficient games of the postseason.

Jimmy Butler finished with 14 points for the Heat but it was Duncan Robinson who led the way for Miami offensively, scoring 18 points on 70 percent shooting. Highsmith and Martin had themselves a night off the bench, scoring 15 and 14 respectively.

Miami will head back home needing more to happen from their superstars if they are to close out this series. They will also need Gabe Vincent, who sat out due to an injury sustained in the previous game.
