Agriculture Minister meets with Region Two farmers.
Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha today met with farmers and other stakeholders from Region Two to discuss effective monitoring of the region’s water resources.
Minister Mustapha noted that due to the prolonged dry season systems had to be put in place to ensure all farmers benefit from the water resources to sustain their crop.
After speaking with the farmers and listening to their suggestions, Minister Mustapha formed a management committee comprising farmers, representatives from the WUAs, regional officials and regional security officials to monitor the situation and ensure effective water management within the cultivation areas.
