VP Jagdeo to lead outreach to Region Six tomorrow

May 28 2026
Vice President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo, accompanied by several Cabinet ministers, will on Friday May 29 2026, continue the Government’s nationwide public engagement drive with a Public Day outreach in Region Six.
The event is scheduled for 10:00h at the University of Guyana Berbice Campus, Port Mourant, where residents from across the region and surrounding communities are expected to meet directly with senior government officials.
The outreach is part of an ongoing initiative aimed at strengthening direct communication between citizens and the administration, allowing residents to raise concerns, submit requests, and receive immediate feedback on key issues affecting their communities.
At previous engagements, including a recent session in Region Three, hundreds of citizens benefitted from one-on-one interactions with ministers and technical officers on matters such as housing, employment, infrastructure, land allocation, public assistance, and community development.
A similar Public Day was also held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre in Liliendaal a few weeks ago.
During Friday’s outreach, residents will have the opportunity to engage directly with Dr Jagdeo and members of Cabinet on a wide range of local and national issues.
The Government has said the Public Day initiative is intended to improve responsiveness, enhance transparency, and ensure that citizens’ concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
