VENEZUELAN NATIONAL KILLED BY MENTALLY-ILL SON

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged murder committed on 47-year-old Eyone Hernandez a labourer of ‘C’ Field Sophia, which occurred at the said address last night at approximately 11:30 hrs.

 

The man’s 20-year-old, mentally ill son is the main suspect at this time and is presently in custody.

 

Hernandez, who is a Venezuelan national had an argument with his son over food, when the suspect armed himself with a knife and dealt the victim a stab to the back of his left thigh.

 

An alarm was raised by the victim’s wife causing the suspect to be detained with the knife in his possession while EMT from Alberttown Fire Service responded to the scene, and the victim was pronounced dead.

 

One stab wound was observed to the back left thigh. No other wounds was observed on his body. The deceased was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting PME. Investigations continue.
