December 20 2024 – Noah Beaton, 26, who reportedly confessed to fatally stabbing Toshao Ridley Joseph, was formally charged with murder and remanded to prison today.

Beaton appeared before Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where the indictable charge was read to him.

He is expected to return to court on January 31, 2025.

Earlier this week, Beaton surrendered to police and confessed to killing Joseph.

The 37-year-old Toshao of Tasserene Village, Region Seven, was discovered with 19 stab wounds at the Signature Inn Hotel on Laluni Street, Georgetown. The brutal attack occurred sometime between 12:50 AM and 7:30 AM on  Monday.

Beaton claimed that it was due to the Toshao’s failure to apologise for alleged years of sexual abuse.
