December 20 2024 – 50-Y-O Kenrick Hakim, of Lot 142 Fourth Street, Martyrs’ Village, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was brutally murdered on Thursday, December 19, 2024, after a confrontation with his tenants over loud music.

Information reaching the BIG Smith News Watch indicates that the tenants who were identified as Sarah Persaud and Ramlagan Mahadeo, also known as “Dado,” residing at the same address, were playing loud music.

The confrontation began after neighbors complained to Hakim about loud music being played by his tenants.

In response to the complaint, Hakim approached the tenants to address the issue.

During the altercation, Persaud and Mahadeo allegedly attacked Hakim with a piece of wood, beating him until he lost consciousness. He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Up to press time, it was unclear if the perpetrators were taken into custody.
