Three Arrested in Drug Bust on Soesdyke-Linden Highway

March 28, 2025 – A late-night operation by police officers from Regional Division 4B resulted in the seizure of 27.2 kilograms of marijuana and the arrest of three individuals along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
According to police reports, officers were conducting routine patrols at approximately 11:00 PM on March 27 when they stopped a white Toyota Axio, bearing license plate #PAJ 4254.
The vehicle was driven by 32-year-old Kerwin DosSantos of Freeman Street, La Penitence, Georgetown.
During their engagement with DosSantos, officers noticed another vehicle—a white Toyota Allion (#PAH 2633)—halted about 200 yards behind the initial stop.
The second vehicle was driven by 34-year-old Akeda Gordon, a housewife from Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo. She was accompanied by Kareem Gordon, 27, of Middle Road, La Penitence. Upon questioning, DosSantos confirmed that both cars were traveling together.
Officers then approached the Toyota Allion and requested permission to conduct a search, to which the driver complied.
Upon opening the trunk, they discovered three large plastic-wrapped parcels containing a quantity of dried plant material suspected to be cannabis.
All three individuals were immediately informed of the offense, cautioned, and taken into police custody.
The suspected narcotics were weighed and confirmed to total 27.2 kilograms. Authorities have since launched a full investigation into the matter.
The suspects remain in custody as police continue their inquiries. Further charges are expected as investigations progress.
