November 25 2025
Twenty-one-year-old Nicholas DaSilva, known as “Terror,” has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, less time already spent on remand, after pleading guilty to the 2022 murder of 39-year-old Mark Frank.
The victim was killed during a confrontation at Riverview, Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

Dead: Mark Frank
DaSilva, of Riverview, appeared before Justice (ag) Navindra Singh at the High Court in Demerara, where his plea was accepted following the presentation of an agreed statement of facts.
He was represented by Defence Counsel Madan Kissoon, while the State was represented by Prosecutors Christopher Belfield, Simran Gajraj, and Geneva Wills.
According to the facts presented in court, the fatal incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. on November 25, 2022. DaSilva and Frank, of La Penitence, Georgetown, were engaged in a heated argument on a cross street in Riverview.
Frank later walked away to a nearby shop, but as he passed DaSilva on his return, DaSilva drew a “Rambo” knife and stabbed him in the neck. Frank collapsed and died at the scene.
The court heard that DaSilva picked up the knife after the attack, wiped it clean, and placed it back into its sheath before walking toward the nearby sea dam.
In a written caution statement, he admitted he had “pulled out his knife and fired a jook” at Frank due to a longstanding dispute between them.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that Frank died from haemorrhage and shock caused by the stab wound.
During sentencing, Justice Singh began with a starting sentence of 35 years. Deductions were then made for DaSilva’s early guilty plea, his remorse, and favourable reports about his conduct while in prison.
Years were also added to reflect the emotional suffering caused to the victim’s family. After applying all adjustments, the court imposed a final sentence of 15 years, from which time spent on remand will be deducted.
