Police Probe Shooting Incident on Regent Street

September 30, 2025 – Police are investigating a shooting incident that left a 38-year-old man nursing a gunshot wound to the thigh on Regent Street, Bourda, late Monday night.
The injured man has been identified as Quacy Jandoo, an unemployed resident of no fixed place of abode. The incident occurred at around 21:45 hrs in the vicinity of Classic Styles Boutique.
According to initial reports, Jandoo was confronted by a Supernumerary Constable attached to KGM Security Services. An argument reportedly broke out, during which Weekes drew a handgun and discharged a round, striking Jandoo on his left thigh.
The Constable, Ryan Weeks, who was on duty at the nearby Classic Collection building, told investigators he had been issued a .32 pistol and ten rounds of ammunition earlier that evening. He alleged that while performing his duties, he observed Jandoo attempting to cut a GTT cable attached to the building with a hacksaw blade.
When challenged, Jandoo allegedly refused to stop and instead drew a cutlass, prompting Weekes to fire in self-defense.
Jandoo managed to flee into a nearby yard before being located by police at a known “drug block.” He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was admitted in stable condition.
Police have since retrieved the firearm used in the shooting. Weekes is currently assisting investigators as the probe continues.
