Police Looking For Men Who Illegally Removed Impounded Motorcycle from Station

March 20, 2025 – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is actively searching for two men who illegally removed an impounded motorcycle from the Amelia’s Ward Police Outpost in Linden on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident, which took place in full view of officers, is being treated with the utmost seriousness, and the suspects—who are known to law enforcement—will face legal action once apprehended.

According to a statement issued by the GPF, at approximately 18:01 hrs on March 19, 2025, Woman Constable Grant reported that she was performing duties at the Enquiries Desk when another officer brought in a black and grey Skylar motorcycle without a number plate and requested that it be lodged at the station.

During this process, Constable Grant observed a white open-back vehicle with a license plate marked “ON TEST” entering the police compound. The vehicle contained two adult males in the front seats and three boys sitting in the back tray.

The driver and front-seat passenger exited the vehicle but failed to engage with police officers about the impounded motorcycle.

When Woman Constable Grant informed one of the men that they were not allowed to remove the motorcycle, the individual ignored her warning, stating:

“I don’t have time; the police can do what they wanna do.”

Despite being cautioned, the two men proceeded to load the motorcycle onto their vehicle and drove away from the compound.

Following swift police action, the motorcycle was recovered at the home of one of the individuals and has since been secured at the Mackenzie Police Station.

Meanwhile, searches are ongoing for the two suspects.

The Guyana Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
