Dog lovers from across the region gathered today at the Police Sports Club Ground at Eve Leary for the highly anticipated 4th Annual Dog Show and Expo, hosted by Olympus Kennels.

The event, which has become a highlight on the canine calendar, offered a day filled with fun and excitement for all attendees, regardless of breed or size. Despite the occasional rain, hundreds of pet owners and their furry companions turned out to showcase their dogs’ talents, beauty, and uniqueness.

The expo featured an impressive display of breeds, including Rottweilers, German Shepherds, American Bullies, Huskies, and American Pitbull Terriers, catering to the varied interests of dog enthusiasts.

From best dressed to most obedient, the competition classes attracted over 50 entries, each vying for top honors in various categories.

Organized by Malcom Bourne and Hodiah Lewi of Olympus Kennels, the event went off without a hitch, with participants and spectators alike enjoying the lively atmosphere.

Reflecting on the day’s success, Bourne expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from patrons and sponsors, emphasizing that the inclement weather did not dampen spirits.

He noted the diverse array of dogs present, highlighting the event’s aim to showcase the rich tapestry of breeds found in Guyana.

Prizes were awarded to winners across several categories, with a range of doggie essentials and accessories available for purchase.

The registration of dogs for various categories highlighted the ongoing popularity of canine competitions in Guyana. As the event concluded, both participants and spectators left with fond memories, eagerly looking forward to the next edition of the beloved Dog Show and Expo.
