“In my first year in office,I promise you: Salary Increases of 35%, elimination of income tax for all service men and women earning less than $400,000 per month, annual one-month bonus and a minimum of $100,000 cash transfer” –  Leader of the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) coalition, Aubrey C. Norton.

In an appeal to the Disciplined Services ahead of tomorrow’s elections, Norton pledged an enhanced package of benefits should his party form the next government.

The opposition leader further outlined a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening support for the disciplined services, including:

  • Training to prepare ranks for life after service

  • Merit-based promotions and transparent scholarship opportunities

  • Expanded bursaries for children of servicemen and women

  • Priority housing allocations

  • A more technologically advanced security sector, equipped with drones and smarter patrol vehicles

  • Improved protective gear, advanced training, and de-escalation skills for frontline safety

He expressed gratitude for their daily sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s security, law, and freedoms, while pledging that an APNU government would continue to prioritize their welfare.

Norton said the APNU’s vision is to “put people first,” ensuring that those who protect and serve receive the respect, resources, and rewards needed for a better quality of life.

He reminded members of the Joint Services that under the previous APNU administration, salaries were increased by 77 percent.

Members of the disciplined services head to the polls tomorrow, August 22, to cast their votes in the General and Regional Elections.
