Opposition Leader gifts 10 cars to support families

Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed has handed over ten vehicles to families across Guyana as part of a long-standing Ramadan initiative led by the Mohamed family.

According to a statement posted to their social pages, the Mohamed family has been engaged in humanitarian and social work across the country for more than four decades, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
Over the past ten years, many Guyanese—especially vulnerable groups such as persons living with disabilities, single mothers, and low-income public servants—have come to anticipate the annual donation of vehicles.
This year’s handover was conducted privately, with ten vehicles distributed to ten families to help improve their living conditions and create new employment opportunities.
The beneficiaries were not named, however, among the recipients were two taxi drivers who received vehicles to support their livelihoods, two single mothers aimed at helping them better provide for their families, and two teachers.
The initiative is intended to assist recipients in generating income and improving their overall quality of life.
The Mohamed family noted that the programme remains part of its broader commitment to community support and charitable outreach during Ramadan.
