MoA Showcases Interactive and Educational Booth at Building Expo 2025

August 16 2025
The Ministry of Agriculture is making a big impression at the International Building Expo 2025, currently underway at the Providence National Stadium, with a massive and vibrant booth highlighting its many agencies and programmes.

Among the featured divisions are the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI), the Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA), and several others, all working together to showcase the ministry’s role in advancing Guyana’s food security and agricultural development.

However, the spotlight was undeniably on the Fisheries Department, which attracted large crowds of both adults and children with its interactive displays, educational activities, and giveaways.

From learning about aquaculture and aquaponics to exploring the importance of safe handling practices and species identification, visitors were treated to a fun yet informative experience.
Fisheries Officer Saskia Tull explained that the booth highlights Guyana’s fisheries management plans, including efforts to tackle Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing activities.
To make learning enjoyable, the department also introduced a game board where participants answered questions for a chance to win exciting prizes.
Describing the booth as both interactive and educational, Tull said the activities were designed to engage visitors of all ages while deepening their understanding of the fisheries sector and its importance to Guyana’s economy and sustainability.
With its blend of learning and entertainment, the Ministry of Agriculture’s booth is proving to be one of the most popular attractions at this year’s Building Expo.
