Woman takes her life after checking into short-time hotel

Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department in Georgetown were asked to travel to Linden on Tuesday after a murder investigation took a twist when the suspect in a murder investigation who was arrested on Monday had his first round of interrogation on Tuesday morning.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that Coby George called ‘soap’ was wanted in connection with the execution-style killing of Glenroy Chapman which took place in Linden some three weeks ago.

George, an unemployed 21-year-old of 67 F Wismar Housing Scheme was at the time being grilled in connection with the murder when detectives from Linden decided to carry out a search for arms and ammunition at his residence.

A grenade (with serial number), bulletproof vest, Guyana Defence Force pants and shirt (with serial numbers), a haversack, ten small bottles of vaccinations, and a black face mask were found hidden in a dog pen which was guarded by a Pitbull dog.

According to what this publication was told, on Monday, April 27 was arrested and on Tuesday the police decided to carry out the search at his house which came up empty-handed.

The ranks then moved to search the yard where they came upon a dog pen guarded by a Pitbull dog.

On the instructions of the police, the dog was removed from the pen and the ranks carried out a meticulous search of the pen by removing a number of boards and zinc sheets, resulting in the discovery of the items.

When the search was complete, the suspect was escorted back to the police station while two additional persons including a 27 year old female were taken into custody as the police continue their investigations.
